ACTIVITIES

The newest NWC Chapter, Central Valley Woodie Club (California), is planning its 2nd annual “Woodies in the Valley” event for Saturday, March 1st. According to Club President Wayne Yada, the club is planning to repeat its successful inaugural event of last year, which is timed to coincide with the blossoming of local fruit, nut and citrus trees. Once again, it will be held on the beautiful campus of Reedley College, in the city of Reedley, near Fresno.

“As was the case last year,” Wayne states, “our event will include the woodie car show, a barbecue, and a cruise through a significant section of the “Blossom Trail.” For a preview of the trail, check out the website:

www.driveblossomtrail.com.

Not only are they inviting fellow valley woodie owners to the event, but the invitation is also extended to woodie owners and enthusiasts from other chapters as well.

According to Wayne, "This is one of the most beautiful times of the year in the Valley, and will make a really nice event as well as a great trip for out-of-towners. You certainly won't need to worry about overheating (but it's not too cold either). The average temperature for March is around 55."

For those who don't know, Reedley, CA is located near the Hwy 99 corridor, just southeast of Fresno. According to Google Maps, it's 179 miles from Santa Cruz, 216 from San Francisco, 210 from L.A., 247 from Santa Barbara, and 330 from San Diego.
