National Woodie Club News

The National Woodie Club exists to promote interest in woodies; to educate owners and the public on their history, beauty, usefulness and uniqueness; and to provide an association through which woodie owners and enthusiasts may exchange information on history, building, restoration or modification techniques and share experiences. The woodie is a special kind of car, which deserves special recognition. The National Woodie Club will work toward that goal.

RECENT UPDATES AND NEWS

A Message from John Lee:
An original 1948 Chrysler Town & Country convertible has just been listed on eBay Motors. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors) It is number 170286457672.

I've kept track of this car for years. So has Terry Hoeman. It is in the collection of the Nebraska State Historical Society and for many years was on display at the State Museum here in Lincoln. This T&C was sold new to a businessman in Columbus, Nebraska, Terry's home town. It was later owned by a businessman and car collector in Lincoln, who donated it to the NSHS upon his death. The vehicle is original in every way with little to no restoration. Exterior is green metallic. It has not been driven since the early 1980s although it did run and was driven prior. Mileage is 44,430 miles. It has been stored inside a climate controlled facility since. The wood and white top are in good condition. This is one of the best original, unrestored Town and Countrys in existence. It is quite suitable for display as an unrestored original example of the last of the wood-bodied convertibles, could be made driveable for shows and parades, or a great restoration project.
